We saw a Western film last night. Our family went to the movie house in Glendale. Layne needed to get out. Niall needed to get away too. Leo needed to see a new film. I needed to eat at my favorite restaurant later on.

"Appaloosa" is a film that features Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen. They are a pair of marshals. They come to a village in New Mexico. It's name is "Appaloosa." The people there need help.

What's happened? Bragg is the villain. Jeremy Irons plays Bragg. The part calls for Bragg to be a bit playful. But, he is not a man to be played with. He's not anyone to be messed with.

Bragg committed murder. To start with, he killed a miner and he raped the miner's wife. She died as well. Afterwards, Bragg suddenly shot three sheriffs when they went out to apprehend Bragg for prison.

Of course, there's more story here. Cole (who's Harris' role) meets with Mrs. French (who's Renée Zellweger's part) soon. He falls in love with her. Cole's after her. All the same, perhaps it may be that the middle-aged marshal's being played with.

I won't tell all of you everything. We liked this. We agreed that "Appaloosa" was a success. It turned out well. I found a subtlety with the understatement there. I understood the relationship of various people without filling the film with sounds out loud of needless dialogue. This is cinema's power.
